Inspectas has been retained by Cumberland Council as its asbestos inspection team across the authority’s 118 primary and secondary schools and colleges.
Continuing the contract for asbestos management re-inspection and assessment services which was originally awarded in 2020, our team has secured this specialist contract following a competitive tender process.
Referring to the continued contract, Darren Leech, Property Surveyor for Cumberland Council, said:
“The Inspectas Compliance team has been working with Cumbria County Council and more recently, Cumberland Council since 2021 as our asbestos consultants. During this time we have forged a great relationship, particularly as Inspectas are always available to offer advice over and above any contractual arrangements.
We have had a very positive working relationship with them in the past and look forward to working with them in the future.”
Inspectas director Matthew Fahy, who has operated at all levels of the compliance industry during his 21 years in the sector and specialised in education and local authority property compliance, said:
“This is a real coup for our team and we’re absolutely delighted to have the continued confidence of Cumberland Council to maintain their asbestos management and assessment provision.
As a specialist provider we have a decade working in the public and private sectors delivering asbestos surveys, fire safety, health and safety compliance and land remediation projects.
Our goal is to be a transformational force in this sector and the extension of such a sought after contract demonstrates Cumberland Council’s confidence in our expertise, attention to detail and reliability in delivering asbestos assessments and management within one of their most important asset portfolios.”
Inspectas was formed in 2013 by asbestos management professionals Craig Candlish and Matthew Fahy. In a bid to become a leading force in the sector, they combined their expertise to launch Inspectas Compliance and today have a portfolio of more than 150 clients in the education, healthcare, retail, construction and industrial sectors.
