A campaigner who spent years fighting for the families of those killed by deadly asbestos has taken a manufacturer to the Supreme Court – and won.
The highest court in the land has ruled in favour of Graham Dring, who runs the Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims Support Forum after a two-year battle.
The ‘landmark judgement’ means that the Asbestos Victims Support Groups Forum UK will be able to access court documents used in a legal case against Cape Intermediate Holdings Limited.
Campaigners believe the documents contain valuable information about the dangers of asbestos and the influence the asbestos industry had in setting health and safety standards in the UK.
Mr Dring says the paperwork could prove to be extremely important to those suffering from asbestos-related diseases and their families.
